You know Freddie Wong's viral Tik Tok post that the best/authentic Chinese restaurants have 3.5 stars on Yelp? Well Qin Dynasty falls squarely into that category. I would come here just for the beef chow fun (dry style) - they make the best! But the dim sum also draws me here. On weekends you can have the full dim sum cart experience (popular & crowded), but if you miss it, fear not, you can also order many items a la cart at other times. Love the casseroles too. The cuisine is Cantonese-Chinese and is cooked well. Usually a lengthy menu puts me off, but it's not atypical with traditional Chinese restaurants, and the quality and value here are both on point. Even my finicky dad approves - this is one of his favorite Chinese restaurants in northern NJ and my parents have been to probably all the ones worth going to in the area. They have great and varying seafood specials like dungeoness crab, soft shell crab, snow clams, razor clams, lobster, scallop, snail, sea bass, eel, coral shrimp, abalone, etc.

Food comes out fast and very hot. The tea is amazing. The hostess is always pleasant. Not very good English speaking though. Family style dining, but if it's just a date night the have a quite area for couples.

Came for the dim sum with my husband and father. We were seated immediately when we arrived. We arrived at around 2:45pm on a Saturday and was told dim sum carts stop at around 2:00. I also heard some else say they stop around 1:30 so I'm not exactly sure. We ended up choosing our dim sum items from a paper menu which was fine but just be aware of the timing if you want the fully Cantonese style cart. Staff was not the most enthusiastic but helpful and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly. Everything we ordered tasted good. Some favorites were the pork steamed buns, custard bun, green sesame ball, and pork soup dumplings. One of our items never came out so we waited a little bit until we finally asked about it. Someone came over and just crossed it off our bill so I guess they ran out. This was our second time dining here. My recommendation is to arrive earlier the first visit to enjoy the full cart experience but it does get crowded at prime time so be prepared to wait a little or be seated with others.

There aren't too many places in NJ that serve dim sum so some friends recommended this restaurant near their home. We were meeting mid morning to beat the Sunday crowd since we were a large group. We waited a few minutes to be seated and then the carts came around. They were full of delicious dim sum it seemed at all times and they were constantly being replenished. There was an excellent variety available. There is a takeout station at the front of the restaurant. The decor is a bit dated but the food outweighed it. There is parking surrounding the restaurant. By the time we left at 12:30 there were people waiting outside for a table. Service was efficient. Prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend!

Note to self. When looking to take NY family to a local, NJ dim sum/Chinese restaurant, come here! Qin Dynasty is good ol' fashion dim sum at its very finest and, as of this date, our NEW FAVORITE dim sum restaurant in NJ! As we make our way through our own personal NJ dim sum trail, we have been to dim sum restaurants with more spacing, dim sum restaurants with less of a wait and dim sum restaurants located closer to our home, but the food at this restaurant is just simply MUCH better. We came by on a brisk November Saturday morning at 11:45ish and, we took it as a good sign, but there were A LOT of cars in their parking lot already. Although the lot was smallish-looking, there were actually plenty of spots around the corner and in the back. To no one's surprise, the restaurant was bustling inside with parties waiting to be seated and also with take out orders. The restaurant isn't too big, but not small either and spacing is good between tables too. Thankfully, the wait for our party of 4 was only 10-15 minutes and by the time we left, there was no wait at all. Once seated, IMMEDIATELY, I meant we didn't even situate our kids fully yet and BOOM a cart with dim sum dishes already rolled up to us. I LOVEEEEE IT. Food on the table in nanoseconds of getting our table. Didn't hurt that we were starving too. Service was fantastic throughout our time there because the restaurant isn't too big, so the carts circling around made their way to our table often. AND when there were certain dishes that we were looking for, but they didn't have it on the cart that was at our table, the cart ladies would kindly seek it out for us and bring it to us!!! Major brownie points there. Qin Dynasty pretty much had every dim sum dish we wanted and all of the usual suspects, but, best of all, it was all really, really tasty. We've been to a few dim sum restaurants in NJ and some were meh and some were really good, but Qin definitely outranks them all with the variety and flavors. They had all of the typical rice rolls (beef, shrimp, roast pork), pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, pan fried turnip cake, spring rolls, chicken feet, beef balls, fish balls, spare ribs with black beans, shrimp and chive dumplings, pot stickers, Malay sponge cake - I can go on and on with more. AND, ALL of it was good. I didn't have a single complaint about flavor for any of them. In addition, plenty of customers were ordering made to order kitchen items like pan fried noodles, fried rice dishes, etc, which we had a chance to try our 2nd time here, specifically the pan fried noodles. Sauce was tasty, but they drowned it way too much . Nevertheless, solid, but could have actually used less sauce. It seems the cat has been out of the bag about Qin Dynasty for a long time as they seemingly have been in service for over a decade and by the look of their business they are clearly the top choice for many people for authentic Chinese food. The restaurant was poppin'. Let's just say, there is NO DOUBT we will be back for more.

If you're looking for authentic Chinese/Catonese food, this is the spot! I came in for their lunch, I will say get there before 1230 because it gets packed quickly! The service was nice. It was my first time here and my server was very patient and pleasant. She explained everything to me and how to order the dim sum and which dim sums she found best in her opinion. I would recommend coming as a group so you can order more than one dish. The dishes come family style and the dim sum comes with 4 pieces. They also have great seafood listings. Unfortunately, I got too full so I will be ordering next time! Everything had delicate flavors. Make sure to try their spicy sauce as well as the special sauce!

My family has been to Qin Dynasty, located off of 46 East in Parsippany, many times over the years. This is really authentic, using incredibly fresh ingredients, expertly prepared to bring out the unique flavors and textures. Our visit two months ago was just as fantastic as the first. This establishment was packed tonight with Asian families enjoying long, leisurely meals. They have an extensive menu in English and Chinese, whose plates of food tickle both your mind, eye, and palate. Knowing autumn is the season in which crabs are delicious, my mom was craving and decided to order them. We also ordered chicken fried rice, sliced beef chow fun, seafood stir-fried with mixed vegetables, deep-fried eggplants with salt and pepper, sautéed beef with orange sauce and beef lo mein family style to share. The large lazy susan in the center made serving very easy. They specialize in seafood, but everything we've tried has always been fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. The staff speaks adequate English. We continue to recommend this place.

My daughters wanted DimSum and with the rain we weren't feeling our usual spots in NYC. So my oldest googles top DimSum restaurants in New Jersey and Qin Dynasty was the closest. Nice big open space with plenty of seating and a big aquarium holding crabs. We were greeted immediately upon entering and sat right by the aquarium...lol. On a Saturday night we arrived @ 6:05 and plenty of tables available. About 20 minutes later, the place was packed. Plenty of food on the table. Scallion Pancakes we're crispy, but oily if you don't eat them quickly. Not much scallions. Sautéed Broccoli and ginger had flavor, but not what my daughter envisioned. I did enjoy it tho. The DimSum platte was okay. The shrimp dumplings fell apart. The Vegetable Dumplings held together a little better, but lacked flavor. We substituted Veggie Spring Rolls and they were the best item on the plate. The Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings and Sesame Chicken were the stars of the table. Service was very attentive and our order had no issues.! Overall, the food was average and prices were right. BYOB can't go wrong and we're going back for the Crab. Field goal is good!

My family been coming for dim sum for years now. The food is authentic. Parking can be tricky on weekends but the red roof inn parking is allowed. Some of the cart ladies know English in case you have questions. like if you have allergies. if you're vegetarian then best bet is not to dine here. credit card accepted.

If you want authentic Chinese food in the Parsippany area, then this is one of those spots. Been here a couple times with the fam already and ended up coming here for my birthday. We ordered the dungeoness crab which was about a 1.5 lbs pictured here, delicious. Can't go wrong with the other staples like shrimp walnut and broccoli and their jellyfish (appetizer) is really good too. Service here is ok, what you should expect from a place like here lol. Ask for hot chili oil if you like your dishes with a kick!
